Whoa baby!!!

Life with baby Emmarie has been a bit rough these first few weeks. We battled a case of thrush, constant crying for 3.5+hours a day and acid reflux. We think we finally have the pretty little thing figured out - it makes me feel so good to know that a little bit of medicine can really ease the pain that she was feeling in her belly.

So now with a sleeping baby and a well-behaved 3.5 year old I am able to finally update my blog!

I am so excited to start my shooting season with Crystal and Greg's May 1st wedding tomorrow. The reception will host over 400 guests - the largest event I've ever been to!

Earlier this week I became an accomplished speaker with the Professional Photographers of Michigan. I presented a boudoir program and hands-on demonstration to a group of 50. I had a great time speaking and think I may have found a new niche for me! I'll blog more about the event with more details and photos over on the boudoir blog at www.unveiledportraits.com

And, just a reminder to become a 'fan' or 'like' both Ardent Photography and Unveiled Portraits on Facebook... I will soon release the dates and availability for High School Seniors as well as specials and a BIG announcement!

Happy Friday!

{enjoy} hipster puppies

There is a hilarious blog called Hipster Puppies. People send in pictures of their too cool puppies and they give them snarky captions... I love it. They are working on a book, and I am hoping that my Hipster Puppies will make it in... here are the submissions, how can they possibly be denied? {photos and post by paige}

{enjoy} Baby Brecken

I have been following baby Brecken's family for a long time now. From his parent's marriage, his older brother getting bigger, and now Brecken is already 6 months old. I love seeing families grow, it is one of the best parts of my job! cheers, erin

{enjoy} Baby Mayzie

Mayzie was such a sweet little baby. She was full of smiles and I had a great time doing her photo shoot. Love that red hair! {enjoy}

Something New

After five years of only shooting in RAW, last night I shot in JPEG. After twenty years of never shooting sports, I photographed a baseball game. I liked it, both of them.

Create something new, daily – updated my blog header to reflect/remind me to do just that. I debated about changing the header to Create * Connect * Grow, but I thought it would be too confusing, although, the phrase came in a strong second.

There is nothing like drawing a line between the comfort & challenge of creating something new.

{enjoy} Sam + Julie engaged {photos and post by Sara}

I was pretty sure I was going to love Sam + Julie when she told me they moved to Colorado four years ago to prolong their ski season {so cool!}. But when they met me in Uptown for their engagement shoot bearing a box of gourmet cupcakes for me, it was official, I was completely and utterly head over heels with these two! The engagement session was a blast, Sam and Julie are quirky and fun, and they were up for anything. They have such a unique style and their wedding is sure to be the perfect blend of vintage and modern. Congratulations, Sam + Julie, I can't wait for your amazing wedding! {sara}

{enjoy} Ezra {photos and post by Paige}

Last summer I was pretty devastated when my husband and I lost our 8 1/2 year old English Bulldog. I got her at 18 years old and she went to college with me, moved across country {more than once} and even got married with me. We were'nt ready for another Bulldog right away, but my awesome husband gave me one for Valentine's day and we were finally able to bring him home last night. Ezra is the sweetest little puppy, and we are so excited to add him to our family. {paige}
