I have been very busy shooting lately. I volunteer for an organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. We go into hospitals and photograph babies that have passed away when they are born or shortly after they are born. It is very heart wrenching! I have done two session in the last week. I was talking with a friend and she commented that I must like doing them if I have done two this week. Well I don't {enjoy} doing the sessions but I do want to bless the families that have lost a child. I pray that the photographs help them be able to heal and move on. I pray that they bring them closer to God and their loved ones. I can not even grasp what losing a child would feel like. The two sessions that I did this week were both full term babies {which I think are the hardest}. I envision all the prep the parents have already done getting ready for their new baby. Then I start thinking about all the dreams and hopes they have that are all revolved around this little baby's life. It crushes me to think that is all gone for these families. At the first session I did the mom held her baby and cryed and pleaded that her baby would just wake up and cry. At the second one the grandmas held their sweet grand child and wept. I also cried and just tried to stay behind my camera. The reason I do this is because I really want to use what I have and give back. I want to bless others.
