Door County engagement... 35 degrees.

Kimberly and Dan are getting married in Door County at the end of May this year. They decided to do their engagement session during a recent wedding planning trip to the Egg Harbor. We were really excited for terrific spring weather... but being on the Door Peninsula the wind made the 35 degree day feel very cold!

Kimberly did a great job styling their session. Their outfits photographed perfectly in the various spots we shot. The only exception was the bitter cold and Kimberly's 3 inch heels! Luckily Dan was able to lift Kimberly over the deep cold snow to get great shots on the beach.

Thanks for a great time in Door County! Your wedding will be such a blast... and hopefully nice and warm.

Enjoy these shots from the session!

Dreams and Imagination

Sunday afternoon driving back to Pittsburgh from Philly on the turnpike – this is my view from behind the wheel of my car…

Bright blue sky, white clouds lined with a pink hue and golden sunbeams breaking through the clouds. All of it lining the horizon as far as the eye could see. I drove into this sight for about 48 miles of straight highway that lead into the Blue Mountains of PA. This was a painted landscape directly out of a Disney movie, it was that grand.

In the trunk of my car I had my camera and tripod but I never stopped to photograph this view. Yes, it was killing me at first but I wanted to get home to see my daughter after three days of being away.

Two phrases kept repeating in my head:
- Art is here to give people the opportunity to dream.
- Art is the dialogue of the imagination.

I am not sure if these are original thoughts or random sentences from past readings. Either way, perfect words for the experience.

That is what I did, dream and imagine.

(enjoy) St. Thomas + The Depot

Sarah and Erik are the perfect balance to each other. I loved watching documenting their day and watching how they love each other. The ceremony was at St. Thomas where they met. After the ceremony we got some fun photos by the river in front of Mill City Museum. Then we headed to the Minneapolis Depot for the reception. It was a lovely wedding and Sarah looked stunning. Congratulations and blessings to you in your marriage.
